Scope
Led the end-to-end design of Postbox, a secure in-app communication center for banking messages, statements, and user notifications—designed to increase user trust and message discoverability across mobile surfaces.
Process
I developed a flexible mobile-first messaging architecture that prioritised accessibility, filtering, and gesture-based interactions.
Prototyped gesture flows (swipe to archive/delete) to streamline message triage
Designed dynamic states: read/unread, multi-account switching, and filtered views
Created interactive prototypes and tested across Android and iOS devices to refine touch behavior and visual hierarchy
Implemented robust permissions logic - allowing read-only access across authorised accounts, all within strict financial compliance requirements
Solution
The final release increased visibility and engagement with critical banking messages, while reducing support queries related to missed updates.
+38% increase in message open rates
Gesture UX rated 4.6/5 in mobile usability testing
Now serves as the foundation for other in-app communication modules (e.g., Postbox + Bargeld-Code integration)
